Dear Mr. Adams:

It is with a heavy heart that I am resigning from my position as a sales associate from Macy’s. It was a very difficult decision for me to make as I had been quite content with my work here. I have been offered a position that I believe will be a long term career progression for me and since I am at the pinnacle of my sales career, I do not have a choice but to take it up.

Working at Macy’s has been absolutely wonderful experience; I attribute all the aspects of sales profession that I have learnt during this time to my supervisors and co workers. I am really thankful for their immense patience and guidance. If I was able to meet my sales targets, it was only because I was provided with a positive motivation, great leadership and good environment to work and excel.

As detailed in my contract, I am giving a two weeks’ notice with my last working day being March 25, 2014. If you feel that there are any handover notes that you would like me to prepare or train someone to take up my position, I will be more than happy to oblige. It was great being part of a progressive sales team to whom I owe a great deal.
